FMB Sketch Online: How to Get Field Measurement Book Sketch in Tamil Nadu

An FMB Sketch, or Field Measurement Book sketch, is a survey drawing used to understand the measured shape, subdivisions and boundary context of a land parcel. In Tamil Nadu, FMB-related services are available through the official e-Services of Land Records portal along with Patta/Chitta, A-Register, TSLR Extract, Patta verification and Poramboke land verification. FMB is important for boundary due diligence, but it is not the same as ownership proof or an encumbrance certificate.

FMB stands for Field Measurement Book. The FMB sketch is a survey record showing parcel measurements and shape. Open https://eservices.tn.gov.in/eservicesnew/index.html. Select View Patta / Chitta / FMB - Rural/Natham or the FMB Sketch option. Choose District, Taluk and Village. Enter Survey Number and Sub Division Number exactly as printed on your Patta, sale deed or revenue record. Enter the authentication value/captcha and submit. Review the FMB sketch and ensure the location and survey/subdivision details match your parcel.

If the FMB is displayed, use the portal's download/print button if available, or use the browser print-to-PDF option. Official portal text states that Field Measurement Sketch/FMS copies can be downloaded free of cost under the e-service. Separately, the portal text mentions Rs 60 per application at CSCs for Patta transfer applications; do not confuse this CSC Patta-transfer fee with FMB viewing/download.

FMB is not a title or ownership certificate. Use Patta/Chitta, A-Register Extract or TSLR Extract for revenue ownership/land classification indicators. For registered transaction history, mortgages or encumbrances, use the Tamil Nadu Registration Department/TNREGINET portal and the Sub-Registrar office. Always compare FMB boundaries with Patta/Chitta, sale deed schedule, A-Register and on-site survey where required.
